Don’t Call It a Comeback

Don’t Call It a Comeback

They’re back, as again Jimmy, Chris and Ian are joined by ex-Latic John Coyne.  Recorded immediately after episode 7, the lads are blissfully unaware of the twitter storm caused by their comments on burgers and cutlery last time out and move on to discuss: John’s time at Latics and subsequent career Everton, yon Spanish mon

A few months ago. A few (cough cough)-something blokes off of the internet, decided it would be a bit of a laugh if they had a go at one of those podcast things. They knew they’d be walking in the, significant, shadow of the infamous Mudhuts Media Podcasts, but if they ploughed their own furrow then they might just get away with it. If nothing else it would give them an excuse for a night in the pub every once in a while.

We’re back once again with the… errr… ex-local journo.

The pie at night crew have taken to the pubs again, microphone and Jimmy’s menu in hand. This time, we’re back in Wigan Central and Jimmy, Alan, Chris and Ian are joined by Greg Farrimond, ahead of his move “darn sarf” and spend a couple of hours talking about the usual sort of stuff.

aka The one where we’re still sober at the end

The podcast with slightly more regularity than Moeen Ali’s line and length is back.  Somehow, without too much happening on the Latics front, we’ve managed to stumble through to our fifth episode and still found plenty to talk about.

Where’s Wally?

As it’s Saturday, the football doesn’t start until two o’clock and there’s precious little Latics news to keep you interested, why not take a virtual walk to the pub with the Pie At Night boys for the fourth episode of their podcast? This time the usual mix of latics, food, music, beer and other nonsense contains a healthy Manchester City flavour as twitter’s @the_paris_angel joins the fray to reminisce about 1999, FA Cups and all that.

The Wigan Athletic Room 101

I think it’s fair to say that everything is going well at Wigan Athletic right now. But that doesn’t mean we can’t cast our eye back over years gone by when some real dross wore the famous blue and white. So it came to pass that we launched a new feature on the Pie At Night podcast recently, loosely entitled The Latics Emporium of Sh**e designed to list an A to Z of Wigan Athletic players, who it’s fair to say didn’t exactly cover themselves in glory.

There’s got to be some perks to this job hobby, right? So it came to pass that The Pie at Night podcast went on the road to the Northern Beer Temple on Wigan Lane for Episode 3 of an as yet undetermined series. An evening of reflection and Euro 2016 previewing was planned until we hatched a further idea. To have our OWN European Championships featuring a selection of beers from around the continent. Yes that would be a good idea wouldn’t it?

They’re back.  Join Jimmy and the boys as they talk Latics, pies, music, pubs and give Dylan the chance for some major name-dropping.  This episode was recorded  at Wigan Central in the middle of a snow storm as Chris prepared to get on his bike to Blackpool for Joseph’s Goal.
