I don’t want to bring a downer on things, but regardless of what happens over the next couple of weeks, I can see Mad Mary over there and she’s loosening up her vocal cords to bring 2013/14 to an end.  Which means it’s time for us at TNS Towers to take stock and decide what next season will bring.  We’ve definitely got something exciting in the pot (no spoilers), but there are a few other things that need to be sorted out after an eventful season.

There’s only two teams in Wigan!

On Saturday 13 August 2011 Wigan Robin Park Football Club were due to play Rochdale Town away in the North West Counties League.

However because of a rugby function taking place at Rochdale’s shared ground that day the game has been switched to the Robin Park Arena.

The Robins home league fixtures are always scheduled when Wigan Athletic are away for logistical reasons – due to the proximity of the two grounds – and for the supporters of both clubs that like to watch each others home games.

Another Promise That I’ll Never Live Up To

I ‘ve actually gone against the grain and done the New Year resolution thing this January, but I ‘ve eschewed the traditional health, fitness and world peace options for something more selfish. This year I ‘m going to listen to more new music, rather than just getting it and listening to the same stuff I ‘ve been stuck on for years. I ‘m sick of using the phrase “yeah I got it, but haven ‘t listened to it yet” and then a few months later flicking through some tracks and despatching the album to a dusty shelf without really giving it time.
