The Pie At Night crew return from their somewhat extended summer break and they certainly haven’t been spending the time learning how to be more organised.
It’s a mix of the topical and the reflective as the World Cup and our post season review make the cut.
We discuss our worst ever World Cup songs before Jimmy tries and fails to inject a bit of World Cup Fever into proceedings. Harry Maguire, Gareth Southgate, Raheem Sterling and of course Bobby Martinez, before getting all our predictions completely wrong. Oh and asking YET AGAIN asking why Nick Powell didn’t make the squad.
There’s a bit of brief chat about other popular summer sports in the Wigan area, such as cricket and cycling and unsavoury bumbag incidents not related to strangely absent Russian hooligans.
After the break we are magically joined by Paul Kendrick and revert back to the end of May and our end of season award.
Player of the season, moment of the year, future Emporium of Sh*** entrant, Fan of the year, Dack v Powell (yes, again!) and we peer into our crystal ball and tell you how we think things are going to pad out under our new owners.
And then we’re back in the present, talking how much of Wimbledon we’ve watched (clue: none) and decided how excited we are for the new season (clue: perhaps not as much as we should be).
Where do we need to strengthen? What do we think of the Wildschut and Mcnanaman rumours? Yes there’s loads of football in it, again! Before returning to the important topic of drinking culture amongst Herring gulls.
Music, football and inane gibberish. It’s what we do, give us a listen here….
