What went wrong? How long have you got?

The season’s over but we’re still together with another instalment of the Pie At Night podcast.

We have another special guest in the form of the Wigan Post’s Latics correspondent Paul Kendrick as we review the season. Dylan is also back to regale us with tales of Moldovan moonshine factories.

We start with news that Evander Holyfield is a Tics Mon and Reading fans like to go punting when they’re not watching their team before getting back to do what Wigan Athletic fans do best: talking excessively about the FA Cup final!

There’s some abstract memories four years on before we settle down to ask Paul Kendrick the “difficult questions”. We’ll not quite – a canter through Paul’s career, his thoughts on the season, highlights and lowlights, best pies and of course the time he came closest to getting hit for over-celebrating a goal in the press box.

There’s also a great, insightful update from Paul on Joseph’s Goal and hope for future progress with the charity. Paul secures a future invite by giving the correct answer to the “Is it ever acceptable to use cutlery when eating a burger?” question.

From there we have a brief musical interlude and drinks top up before embarking on a serious season post-mortem.

Where did it go wrong? Where there any highlights? Who do we want as our new manager? (A question which does give a bit of consensus, albeit it an unlikely candidate).

There’s some fresh ideas and our guest reveals a bit more around the thinking on the key decisions of the past season. Hopes are yet again reasonably positive that we can repeat our feat of two years in spite of our own personal credit crunch if we can retain most of the squad and get a half decent manager in.

We close with a preview of the Joseph’s Goal charity game this Friday and the chance to excitably catch up with players who we actually liked and of course, the Three Amigos.

We’ll be back in a few weeks with a little less football and a little bit more arguing about food. Probably.
