2 Wigan games in one afternoon

Our nearest & dearest neighbours over at The Arena “The Robins” will be playing AFC Liverpool BEFORE Latics take on West Ham United at The DW on Saturday.

This is a great opportunity to take in two Wigan games in the one afternoon and you will be helping the North West non-league scene as well.

The official statement from Andy Vaughan at WRPFC …..

If there are any fans of Wigan Athletic that like their Non-League football there is a chance to catch another game of football before the main event at the DW Stadium

This Saturday Wigan Robin Park entertain AFC Liverpool in a North West Counties Football League Challenge Cup Second Round tie at the Robin Park Arena that stands in the shadows of the DW Stadium (less than a minute’s walk) to the turnstiles.

With Wigan Athletic at home against West Ham United the Robins are kicking-off at 1pm and are again inviting fans of both Premier League clubs to take in some Non-League action before their main course.

The well-supported AFC Liverpool entered the NWCFL at the same time as Robin Park and the clubs have developed a friendly rivalry that always ensures a close game with never more than one goal in it. Both teams like to play football and officials at Robin Park expect Saturday’s encounter to be as exciting as previous games between the two clubs.

The Robin Park Arena consists of a modern seated stand (capacity 1,200) that contains a supporters’ lounge from where the game can be viewed if anybody so wishes.

Admission is £6 (£3 concessions, kids under-seven free) and the bar and cafe will be open from noon and throughout the game.
