Ali Al Habsi off in January

The popular goal custodian, Wigan Athletic’s Ali Al Habsi will be leaving the DW Stadium in January 2015 to go and play in Australia.

Oman are one of thirty two countries to have qualified for the Asian Cup “down under”, they have been drawn in Group A along with hosts, Australia, Korea Republic & Kuwait.

Oman’s games will be played in three different venues, Korea Republic in Canberra (10.01.15)  Australia in Sydney (13.01.15) & Kuwait in Newcastle. (17.01.15)

Al-Habsi became the first, and so far the only, Omani to play in the English Premier League after lining up for Bolton and Wigan Athletic.

An injury kept him out of action for the second half of 2013 but he will no doubt be one of the keys to a successful 2015 Asian Cup campaign
