The night is nearly upon us but Friday night at Ashton Town’s Edge Green Street ground is where it’s at as Wigan Athletic Development Squad take on a team of former Wigan Athletic stars.

Events like this have been held before but I think it’s fair to say that there has never been such a squad of stellar stars assembled in one place before to wear the shirt of Wigan Athletic.

The current squad list, or roster if you happen to be a passing American is as follows:

Roberto Martinez, Graeme Jones, Emmerson Boyce, Gary Caldwell, Mike Pollitt, Chris Kirkland, Nathan Ellington, Stuart Barlow, Simon Haworth, Peter Atherton, Neill Rimmer, Graham Lancashire, Ray Woods, Don Page, Jonathan Jackson plus Tim Chow, Lee Nicholls, Jordan Flores and Louis Robles.

Tickets are still available for this great event in aid of Joseph’s Goal and are priced at £5 adults and £2 concessions (Under 5’s can get in for free, presumably because they will have no idea who 90% of the players are)

You can acquire tickets directly from the DW ticket office or alternatively you can pay on the gate at Ashton Town FC, Edge Green Street, WN48SL, but please endeavour to arrive early as a big crowd is expected. Kick off is at 7.30pm.
