But whose pies are they? – A top night out.

You might have spotted that it’s a world cup year, it’s that time where football gathers together to remind people that it really is a (if not the) truly global game.  The cynics amongst us would say that it’s also the time where we get to see just how much like the biblical ‘money changers in the temple’, football has become.  We might not be quite at the stage where we get adverts for “Tenalady – the official bladder weakness partner of the FIFA World Cup”, but we’re getting there.

So what better time to kick back, grab yourself a pie and a pint and remind yourself that it’s not football’s size that makes it beautiful, it’s its accessibility and what it means to the man on the street or in this case, the man leaning on the bar.

After the resounding success of last year’s event, Mudhuts Media is proud to announce the return of its widely acclaimed ‘Terraces to the Taproom’ evening.  A live event where the spirit of football fanzines is brought to life in a celebration of the beautiful game locally, nationally and globally and brought to you by the people behind Wigan Athletic’s fanzine The Mudhutter.

With music, comedy, sketches, visuals, poetry, readings from forthcoming books and Q&A’s with special guests including former Latics players it promises be another entertainment filled and memorable evening.  As the greatest football competition in the world awaits us this summer, you’ll be given an offbeat look at World Cup’s past and present. There will also be lyrical waxing on matters closer to home in a celebration of Wigan Athletic’s history past and present.

The Mudhutter takes you on a journey back to the terraces of a non league Springfield Park and brings you right up to date with a look at football in the 21st century.

It’s only £3 a ticket, in advance (it’s £4 on the night), which gets you comedy from Jimmy O’Neill, a bit of music, a load of old Latics stuff, a pie and a free fanzine and programme.  Former players Noel Ward, Mike Flynn & John Doolan are already confirmed as attending and the guys are still waiting on confirmation on a few more.

NUMBERS FOR THIS EVENT ARE RESTRICTED. TO AVOID DISAPPOINTMENT BOOK EARLY. BUY TICKETS ONLINE AT http://www.mudhutsmedia.co.uk/ or email admin@mudhutsmedia.co.uk for further information. You can also pay in advance at the Bellingham Hotel by leaving money at reception. Your tickets will be despatched prior to the event.
