Gerr ‘im signed

I’m bored of talking about the Andy Johnson saga (ok then, I’m really a bit pissed off we missed out) and today’s rumours aren’t exactly the type to get the blood flowing. So it’s time to cast the net a little bit wider and delve into the murky Welsh underworld (Swansea?) for news on a Latics old boy.

Unfortunately it’s not good news (for him at least) as today Roberto Martinez has been released by Swansea City. Word from South Wales (see link below) is that Bobby made as much of an impression down there as he did in Wigan. Whether he’ll be looking for another club is unclear, but coming up to his 33rd Birthday, he might give more than a second thought to pursuing other avenues (anything to keep Gerry Armstrong off our screens).

In the past he’s been held up as the type of player that the club could use in a ‘fans ambassador’ type role, and there’s no doubting that the staff at Pizza hut on Robin Park would welcome him back. Wherever he does end up I’m sure all Latics’ fans would join me in wishing him hearty good wishes.

What they think of Bobby in South Wales
