Huddersfield Town 0 v Wigan Athletic 0 – Match Report

If you remember my match preview last week, I mentioned Scammonden Bridge with it being part of the drive up to Huddersfield.  For the 695 Wigan fans that made the journey to the John Smith’s Stadium Tuesday evening, the bridge was probably the most exciting time of the whole evening.

The match ended 0-0, in what was described as a dour match, with few chances & very little entertainment.

Best chance of the evening came to McManaman, who on 30 minutes was through on goal, but having too much time to think…..left, right, through his legs, is lamb cooked at 220 degrees, over his head, the next thing Callum knew, he’d missed his chance & the match stayed at 0-0.

For Huddersfield, their best chance fell to Jon Stead late on, at least this brought out a decent save from Scott Carson.

Other than that & the Ball Boy re-enactment from Uwe in the 2nd half, that was about it!

I did check up with the BBC for their match report, just to make sure this match wasn’t as bad as I thought, they gave the match just 12 lines in their write up, which confirms how dire this match was.

Result means Wigan stay in 16th, Huddersfield drop 1 place to 22nd, Bolton going above them on goal difference after a 3-2 win over Rotherham.

What to pull from this match?  First away point for Wigan; Huddersfield’s first clean sheet of the season & it’s now been 11 games for Huddersfield, since their last home win.

I’ll put this report out of its misery, by ending it here.
