In support of Joseph’s Goal

Author: No Comments Share:

Dear all,

As many of you know, I am an ambassador for Joseph’s Goal. For those of you whom don’t know, Joseph Kendrick is a little boy who suffers from a rare life-limiting condition called Non-Ketotic Hyperglycinemia (NKH). He was also the lucky mascot at the 2013 FA Cup Final, which was a memorable day for all Wigan Athletic fans.

Earlier this year, we were supposed to be walking to Barnsley over Easter to raise funds for this fine charity. Previous walks to Leeds and Fleetwood each raised £36,000, so this is an amazing source of funds for the charity which was sadly curtailed this year.

Added to this, there is usually a Wigan Athletic charity football match each year at Ashton Town and a glitzy charity ball each summer at Kilhey Court. Combined with lots of other forms of fund raising, which have not been able to be fulfilled throughout 2020 for obvious reasons, the Joseph’s Goal charity is in dire need of support. Funds are desperately needed in the race to find a cure to help save Joseph’s life and thousands of other children around the world like him, both now and in the future.

I am always cautious asking for money at any time, but particularly now as so many people are struggling, but if you do feel, that at this time you can spare a few quid a month to support this cause, then there is a new, exciting monthly draw being launched, which also gives you the opportunity to win cash prizes.

The Joseph’s Goal Elite Club has been launched to help cover the loss of funds in 2020 by inviting people to donate £5 a month, to be entered into a monthly draw to win cash prizes.

There are currently around 200 people already signed up, which means first prize is £250. That is one person out of the 200, will receive a nice bonus of £250 back into their pocket as a result of donating.

There are also runner up prizes of £150, £50, £25, £25. And as more people participate, so does the prize pot. 50% of the pot will always be given away as a prize, with the other 50% going to Joseph’s Goal charity.

I may well have also volunteered myself up to do some kind of social event for the Elite Club, at such a time in the future, as when we can have one. Can’t help myself eh?

So once again. Please, please only consider this if you can afford it. And if you can spare a fiver each month towards Joseph’s Goal, then please email me at walk4joseph@gmail.com and I will get you all the details. It will mean the world to Joseph and family.
You can also message me on social media (Martin Tarbuck or @mudhutter) and I will get you the details.
