Just a few tickets left for the Latics Legends game

Two weeks on from the original date which was cancelled due to a waterlogged pitch, the Latics Legends are set to strut their stuff once more at Ashton Town’s Edge Green Street ground with an even more impressive cast list than last time.

The squad includes many of the previously confirmed Latics legends plus quite a few new ones including Roberto Martinez, Graeme Jones, Emmerson Boyce, Chris Kirkland, Mario Melchiot, Nathan Ellington, Jason Jarrett, Neil Roberts, Alan Mahon, John Filan, David Lowe, Stuart Barlow, Gareth Whalley, Kevin Sharp, Neill Rimmer, Ray Woods, Eric Nixon.

Ray Mathias/Tommy Gore/Ian Kilford will be managing/coaching/supporting the side.

It will also in all likelihood represent a final chance to say farewell to Wigan’s amazing FA Cup winning captain Emmerson Boyce after nine years at the club.

The Legends will be facing up to a Hollyoaks XI who are old hands on the charity game scene and could well provide a stern test. Although scoring goals may prove tricky for them seeing as we have three keepers on our team.

All in all it promises to be a great night and with cheap entry at just £5 a ticket and £2 concessions with all profits going to Joseph’s Goal.

Kick-off is 7.30pm, and tickets are still available from the ticket office at the DW, www.wiganathletic.com/tickets or by calling 0871 6633552.

It’s also pay on the day but with well over 1,000 tickets sold a big crowd is expected…on course to smash the 1,400 ground capacity, maybe even challenge the capacity of 2,000!
