SEASON TICKET SALES – DOUBLE THIS TIME LAST YEAR!

Wigan Athletic season ticket sales are going very well indeed according to the club’s official website.

Sales are up by around fifty percent on sales figures from this time last year.  It seems that the decision by manager Roberto Martinez to remain at ‘little Wigan’ has instilled a long lost ‘us against the rest’ phgilosophy again, and the supporters are responding to the call.

Speaking of the upsurge in season ticket sales Martinez said,

“The way we finished the 2010/11 season was down to the atmosphere our fans created, especially at the DW Stadium”.

Obviously the club is keen to replicate the great atmosphere that was created at the West Ham United home fixture last season, and it seems that many supporters who attended that day are anxiously snapping up their tickets as the feel good factor starts to sweep over the club once again.

With the publication of next season’s fixtures imminent Martinez is anxious to ensure that the town’s sporting people realise just what an important part they have to play.  Speaking to the official club site he said,

“Everything that we do at the club is for the fans, so it is vital that they enjoy the football that we are playing, enjoy the progression of young talent coming through the ranks and are proud of how our club is being represented.”

With sales expected to continue at a healthy rate, it is hoped that next season the team and the supporters can work together to ensure a season filled with more success as the club maintains still further its position as this town’s premier sports club.
