Who? [Pt. 2]

Following on from last night’s Part 1 , we bring you Part 2 of our EXCLUSIVE look at our new signings.

Mikael Mandron

Mikael Mandron was quite literally working as a waitress in a cocktail bar –  “Southampton’s premier transvestite experience” Cock/Tailz, when he was plucked from the obscurity of the National League (Is that the Conference? Sounds a bit like a rebranded EDL to me…) to sign for the Tics. A prolific forward (nearly 1 in 2) at previous club Eastleigh, and at just 22 years of age ‘Mika’ has the potential to become another in a long line of Wigan Athletic hero strikers.

(And if it doesn’t work out, he could always reprise his role playing Jason Grimshaw on Coronation Street.)

Gabriel Obertan

Gabriel ‘FUCKING’ Obertan was plying his trade as a bin man, in the Parisien banlieue of Clichy-sous-Bois, scene of violent clashes between youths and French police in 2005. Described as a flying winger in the style of James McClean or Yanic Wildschut, Obertan is “full of running, but not very good at doing it with a football at his feet.”

Upon signing, Gabriel opined “…Ma ‘hole life I av dreamed of playing for a masseev club like The Lateeks, and now I can’t wait to get starteed.” Welcome to Wigan.

Omar Bogle

Omar ‘B-Man’ Bogle is founder member and former lead emcee of the Birmingham grime collective ‘Bull Ring Posse’. Despite getting a lot of A&R attention for their “raucous live shows” and being on the verge of signing with several major labels, Bogle became disillusioned with the music industry and decided to quit the group and pursue a career in football. At 6ft 2in tall and built like a brick shithouse, Omar has plundered 19 goals in 27 games for Grimsby Town in League 2.

Described by former manager Marcus Bignot as “…bigger than Dion Dublin, if you know what I mean, yeah?”, the female element of ‘Saturday Night down King Street’ are already looking forward to Omar making an appearance soon.
