According to Birmingham chairman David Sullivan that pleasure falls to one and all at Wigan Athletic. In a ‘Sir! Sir! Sir! They’re looking at my dinner funny sir!’ moment worthy of Walter softie Chris Hutchings’ comments about Emile Heskey last week are being described as an illegal approach. I suppose there’s a chance that Heskey doesn’t read the papers, or watch TV, but even so I’m guessing that he knew that clubs were interested in him without it being in the Manchester evening news. Maybe Mr. Sullivan would prefer it if it was the player’s agent touting him all over the press.
