Roberto Martinez paid a visit to Latics’ oldest known fan and brought along some special gifts for Tom Gill who was twenty years  old when Latics were formed back in 1932.

The Wigan Athletic boss brought along some special gifts and said ….

“It is great to see that we have such an outstanding supporter of the Club.

“Tom will have seen every Wigan Athletic moment, from the formation to the first league game, all the way to the Barclays Premier League.

We wanted to repay his many years of support with a gesture and so we thought what better than a birthday cake.

We hope to see Tom at the game on Saturday against West Ham United and hopefully we can give him an even better gift with a victory.”

On the local tv news Tom cheekily predicted a 3-1 away win for The Hammers !

Appy Birthday & best wishes from all her at This Northern Soul.

Thankyou to Nick Taylor for the photo.
