The Pie At Night crew are back in Wigan Central for the second part of our November podcast. We’re still with our special guest, Barca Jim, and this time we invite him to grill us with some quickfire questions on a variety of subjects.
There’s another quickfire round where we muse over which fictional character we’d like to take over Latics, with suggestions ranging from Brian Potter to Tony Soprano. We give you our one line Rochdale review even though it didn’t happen before moving to our ever popular Emporium of Sh***.
Jim gives us his terrible Celtic players, including two who also played for Latics and then we cast our eye over the storm that is our centre half polls and nominations. Along with explaining to Jim why we weren’t up for putting Gary “Heid’ Caldwell in.
We finish the first half discussing our albums of the year, well those of us cool enough to actually listen to music do.
After our brief interlude, we resume in conversation with Jim but not before he asks us the time honoured question of if Wigan Athletic disappeared or *shudders* merged with Bolton, who would you go and watch?
With that in mind, we follow Jim through his journey following Celtic, Barcelona and nowadays, a fantastic community club in West Didsbury & Chorlton FC. We diversify into council croutons, Chorlton hipsters, Catalan independence and the cult of Wigan twitter.
Finally we round up our near 100 minute podcast with some pre transfer window chat. Who’s staying, who’s leaving and where we need to strengthen?
We close with some Bradford things and some Christmas lights chat, as you do.
And that’s us for a few weeks, so give us a go if you have an hour and an half to spare to listen to a load of inane, sweary nonsense.
