We all know about the bidding for Russia & Qatar, the rumours, the alleged payouts, coupled with the shadowy conscience of the suits in FIFA HQ.
All was supposed to be brought to the public domain by the lawyer Michael Garcia, his brief was to nterview as many witnesses as possible, turns out it is more than 75, 76 then.
We are suppose to believe that further action will be taken against certain individuals, (big payout to retire, no charges, just like before no doubt) and to make proposals for future bidding processes more accountable.
The dossier is being handed to a German judge , Hans-Joachim Eckert who leads the adjudicatory chamber to see if everything was done by the book, trouble is “the book” was written and altered to suit by the wrong doers!
The most damming statement hidden away in the press release is …..
The report is not expected to be made public.
So you can only really conclude FIFA are still hiding something, plus Hans-Joachim has no authority to impose any sanctions and has absolutely no chance of taking the forthcoming tournaments away from Russia & Qatar.
Only Sepp & his merry men can do that, they will no doubt wine & dine in fine banqueting style over said report on 26th September in their luxury pad located in Zurich.
FIFA statement …
“The report sets forth detailed factual findings; reaches conclusions concerning further action with respect to certain individuals; identifies issues to be referred to other Fifa committees; and makes recommendations for future bidding processes,”
