Wigan continued their progress towards the automatic promotion places with a scrappy one nil win over strugglers Shrewsbury and were grateful to a debut goal from Alex Revell and yet another starring performance from Yanic Wildschut.
Two goals one in each half saw Wigan take the spoils with a performance which whilst it might not have sent the pulses racing nevertheless saw Wigan run out deserved winners earning the Latics three points in their promotion campaign with goals from by Pearce and Jacobs
Yesterday was more likely to be associated with bonfires and fireworks but for Wigan fans trooping away from Gigg Lane last night it was definitely a case of witnessing a late Halloween horror show so inept had been the Latics performance.
