“His name is Andy Lyons, football’s just a branch of science…”
…is how the old terrace chant used to go, but when is football not a branch of science? When it’s busy being an art form, that’s when and if anyone knows a thing or two about mixing football and art, it’s Art of Football.
Who are Art of Football? – “The internet’s second best* purveyor of beautiful football apparel and prints…”
My words not theirs, but they can have that quote for free because it’s true. Their t-shirts and prints are beautiful, and there are none more special than the design they released following that famous day in May 2013, featuring Ben Watson and Callum McManaman, seen here.
Then they followed it up last season with some lovely artwork featuring our talismanic striker, a certain William Donald Grigg, to commemorate the role he and his goals played in leading us to the League One title.
The designs are available on t-shirts and sweatshirts, in a range of colours and sizes. They also do kids sized t-shirts perfect for Little Tics. You might also want to take a look at the canvases and prints, a perfect addition to any wall. All items are delivered beautifully gift wrapped; ideal Christmas presents for anyone who has made it onto Santa’s good list this year.
The good folk over at Art of Football have kindly offered us one of their lovely prints, and here at The Pie At Night we like a competition so thought we’d be nice and offer it up for you to win, rather than keeping it for ourselves.
If you win you can choose between a ‘We Won The Cup’ or a ‘Will Grigg’s On Fire’ print, pictured below:
“Alright, how do I win?”

…and then e-mail thepieatnight@gmail.com with the word COMPETITION as the subject, and one of the Derby “things” we mention on the podcast in the e-mail.
You’ve got till kick off against Derby at the weekend (Saturday, 3pm) to get your answer in, and then we’ll pick a winner from all the correct answers as soon as we can after that.
(So sometime Sunday afternoon then.)
Finally, in the words of Daft Punk:
Get Lucky.
