Critical Two Week blog day 3

8 am

Another early start to the day, why don’t dogs have a lie in? Sun shining and all is right with the world. Pick up my Independent and look at the player ratings. Unusually they have got them just about right. Maloney man of the match, no brainer really. A look on Newsnow shows that most of the media are now swinging in our favour for another escape but lose tomorrow and they will turn on us again, very fickle our national media.

Mood…………………………. relaxed, stress levels flatlining at zero %

10 am

Read Phil McNulty’s article on BBC.co.uk, well written free from patronising comments about why we are in the mire yet again. Much has been said re formations tactics etc but if we do go down this season then Bob will be justied in citing the loss of his first choice centre halves Ramis and Alcaraz and the loss of three first choice defenders over the last three weeks has surely put a strain on the squad and some of the mistakes last Saturday could be attributed to players not familiar with each other’s role.

Mood ………………………… thoughtful      stress levels still zero %

11am

Receive a text saying its being reported that Alcaraz has been having special treatment and could be fit for the Swansea game. Will be fantastic news if it happens, Antolin has been fantastic at the back and our chances of survival are increased if he is fit.

Mood ……………………….. cautiously optimistic     stress levels bank holiday zero

12 pm – 2 pm

Gardening , hate it but it has it be done, but in the sunshine with Planet Rock blaring out of the DAB I can put up with it. Have an over the fence chat with next door neighbour re Wembley, hes’s on a coach leaving at 8.30 and is convinced we will win but he says that every game.

Mood……………………………warm              stress levels 20%, gardening does that to you.

2pm

Decide to do the BBC predictor table. Now I am badly maligned on TNS as being a darksider whose never had a positive thought in his life when in fact I am a realist. Did the predictor and I am delighted to announce Latics will finish 13thon 41 points with Norwich being relegated. Remember where you heard it first.

Mood…………………………mildly deluded                  stress levels 10%

7pm

Decide can’t stand the pressure of watching Sunderland and Stoke ( that and its likely to be a terrible game) so have a family outing to the cinema to watch Iron Man 3. Good mindless entertainment to take my mind off the football.

Mood………………………distracted   stress levels  zero %

9.20pm

Come out of the cinema and check sky sports football app on my mobile . Stoke winning and Sunderland down to ten men. Be still my beating heart. 30 mins to hang on, C’mon Stoke

Mood …………………….mildly euphoric   stress levels      oscillating around 20%.

9.30pm

Get home check score, oh dear one all, Sunderland looking the better team, can’t watch, switch off.

Mood…………………….worried         stress levels increasing to 40%

10pm

Number one son informs me its finished one all meaning it will take a massive goal swing tomorrow night by us to go above them. Never mind will have to relegate Newcastle instead J

Mood …………………… realistic                stress levels 30%
