Everton agree Roberto Martinez Compensation

So we’ve been working late here at the TNS Offices in Wigan.  Ironically it’s coincided with the expected news that Everton, have agreed with Big Dave, compensation for Roberto Martinez.[PPD_PAYTOREADMORE]

Assuming the remaining step is now for Roberto to agree the ‘Terms & Conditions’ with Bill Kenwright!  We expect to see a picture of Roberto, an Everton Top, his name embossed on the back, maybe a number ‘1’, rather soon.  Reckon with the sun being out it’ll be on the pitch at Goodison?

It’s been a repeated saga for the last couple of summers with both Villa & Liverpool, both being strongly linked to the 39 year old, who joined Wigan from Swansea in June 2009.

So, now we know the inevitable has happened, what next for Wigan?  Well of course Dave needs to pop down to the Job Centre on King Street, advertising the new role.

Who’ll take that role has been the talk of many a Wigan person in the last few days.  I was told Stuart Pearce outside AMF Bowling yesterday by a complete stranger.  Though here are a few names that’ve been linked with the now impending Wigan Seat:

Rene Meulensteen – Has been part of the Back Room staff at Manchester United, but with David Moyes taking over, his future is uncertain.

Karl Robinson – No not that bloke from ’Idiot Abroad’, he’s currently the 32 year old Manager at Milton Keynes Dons.

Steve McCLaren – Oh Dear God, yes the ‘Wally with the Brolley’, but well we’ll have to give him a chance after his ill fated attempt at Nottingham Forest & 2nd chance at Twente.

Owen Coyle– I know it’s getting worse, the ex Bolton Boss, who left in 2012, is another of those names on the list.  If Steve Kean comes up next on Google, I’m looking out the window to see if the 4 horses of the Apocalypse can be seen across the TNS Office Car Park?

As for others in the running include, Graeme Jones, Mike Phelan, Neil Warnock (really Ladbrokes), Gus Poyet (my choice) & Roy Keane.

Anyway, good luck in the new role Bob and for Wigan let’s see how this develops?
