The ever popular Ray Mathias has swapped jobs with Peter Ward & has become the latest manager @ Edgeley Park, their forty fourth since 1894

The former Latics boss took the reigns after being a technical advisor to Ward, his first game in that role was a surprise 2-1 win over near neighbours Bury.

But four defeats in five saw Peter Ward asked to step down and Ray into the hot seat.

Ray’s views on the 0-0 home draw against The Brewers, his first game in charge.

“I feel sorry for the boys more than anything.
Bar 15 minutes in the first half and five minutes in the second half, we dominated the game.
We’ve drawn today and we’re not happy with that but we’ll continue.
It will be a miracle but I feel where there is still life and points to play for, we’ll be going for it.”
