EXCLUSIVE: Steve Bruce set for sensational Marlon King swoop in Jan

Author: No Comments Share:

Sunderland manager Steve Bruce has today come out and said he will try to sign beleagured free agent and former Wigan charge Marlon King for his new club Sunderland.

Speaking to Middlesbrough-based publication The Northern Echo, Bruce laughed off Wigan Athletic chairman Dave Whelan’s comments that Bruce had left the Latics with a few “dodgy signings,” and then sensationally hinted he will try to sign jailed fistsman Marlon King.

“I was trying to think of the couple of dodgy signings he was on about and I can only think of Hugo Rodallega and Charles N’Zogbia..” ruling out those two, but intimating STRONGLY that Bruce, newly flush with cash, will make a second bid for Marlon King.

King, considered not “dodgy” by Bruce, is looking for a club after having being released by Wigan Atheltic. However his striking instincts are still sharp as evidenced by his mistaking a woman’s face for a football. (Pictured)

It is believed the Black Cat trainer will also return to the North West in Janurary for Olivier Kapo, the John McGovern to Bruce’s Brian Clough. A player Bruce has signed for his two previously managed clubs.
