Regrets, I’ve had a few and I really did think that not releasing the “Oh my god, they killed Jordi” t-shirt idea I had last year was going to be one of them. Now, with Bob and Jordi signing on for, at least, the short term it’s time to grab the opportunity. So here it is, along with four other new designs, making up the first batch of the This Northern Soul Summer 2012 collection.
These shirts, along with last years design, including the classic “Keep The Faith” site logo are available from our Spreadshirt store. All (in standard fitting t-shirts at least) at the affordable price of £14. The little bit of cash we get from these shirts goes back into keeping the site running so as well as looking good you’ll be giving our harrassed webmasters a welcome helping hand.
All these shirts are available as prizes in our Euro 2012 predictions competition. The deadline for which has been extended until midnight 7th June 2012.
Legend
The picture says it all, when you’ve just scored a match winning hat-trick with a broken ankle, a bandage and a tot of whisky to help you along then a bit of a carry on the wave of a crowd is the least you can expect. Taken from an idea first developed by our own ‘Jimmy’ Tarbuck, but with a TNS twist and thanks to mirrorfootball.co.uk for the picture.
80-8
As cricket scores go, it’s not great, but when you’re a good for nothing, rag-taggle outfit of a football club then it’s a pretty good knock. Celebrating 80 years of Latics’ existence and 8 years in the barclayspremierleague in one season is pretty special, doing it in one t-shirt took a bit of thinking.
There’s a hole in my bucket…
…dear Stanley, dear Stanley. No, it’s not Richard Madeley, ask your dad, or your mate, who no doubt contributed some of his pocket money to pay for this tanned Lothario to tread the Springfield Park pitch. A timely reminder of the times when the only way that Latics could manage a loan signing was to have a whip round on the terraces, no matter how much of a thunderbolt was in that right foot.
OMG
The number of requests I’ve had for this shirt since I first mooted the idea last year almost properly qualifies as “by public demand”. Ok, it’s a dig at some of our fans, which when we spend half our time calling for unity is a bit rich, but a) it’s a good idea, b) it’s a reasonably funny image and c) they’re wrong! Big thanks to Russ Walton for his help with the cartoon on this one.
Happy shopping.
