Club officials have confirmed that Jordi Gomez has signed a new contract at the club that is set to run until the summer of 2014.  Gomez, who was signed from Espanyol in 2009 for a fee of £1,700,000 was approacing the end of his current contract and Roberto Martinez is pleased to have secured his services for a further two seasons.

He has made 42+17 top flight appearances for Latics, scoring six goals in the process.  The current season is arguably his best since arriving at the DW Stadium and he looks to have won the fans over after some solid displays during this campaign.
