So Brighton are at the DW today and after a few weeks off and with ne’er a Skint joke it seems a good excuse to do a Perfect Hat-Trick on a Norman Cook tip. Although when I tried it all sounded a bit, you know, like a Zoe Ball link on “Strictly Come Dancing: It Takes Two” ( we’re as cool as owt here at TNS). So I’ve gone for the people who’ve really made him all his dosh, the people he samples.
So here you are, this week, tenuously, in music.
Left Foot – Bobby Gentry – Reunion
This one is sampled on the Cook produce Mama Do The Hump by popular beat combo Rizzle Kicks but it would be way too obvious to go on about Owen Coyle’s tactics. So reunion it is and, after a couple of weeks away, it’s time to say welcome back to our international superstars.
Rodger and John did great for Chile and Honduras. Thingy Wossit Garcia got reacquainted with a football pitch and I heard a rumour that even James McClean looked decent. The really good news is that none of them played for England so hopefully they can all bring a bit of buoyancy back with them.
Brighton are in the mix with us so the points are important in that regard and teams can easily slump following an international break so it’ll be good to see us hit the ground running and grab a good three points.

Right Foot – Eric Burden & The Animals – Tobacco Road
Borrowed for Fat Boy Slim’s ‘Build it up, Tear it Down’ and yes, I’m going there, a bit.
For whatever reason, the current manager has chosen to tear down what the previous one built, and that’s totally his prerogative, but surely it’s time to really stamp his own identity on what he’s building. Hopefully he’ll have a bit more space to do that if we can beat Zulte Waregem on Thursday, leaving him to concentrate on the League, getting his best side together and working out how he really wants them to play.
Then again, that might just be wishful thinking.

Header – Black Sabbath – The Wizard
One for the rockers on the TNS forum, Cook used this one in ’The Weekend Starts Here’ and it does so I should just bloody well cheer up and get on with it. Well I’m trying to but the Ashes are on and there’s a chance that I’ll be flagging come 3 O’Clock.
So if I start to drop off Hal way through, don’t think I’m trying to make a point, I’m just bloody knackered.

And finally, we’ve got a bonus video this week to celebrate Hull’s appointment as City of Culture.
Famously, Cook started off in Hull’s fourth best band who were lauded by the Prime Minister because of their “great album’ London 0 Hull 4. I’m not sure whether his speech writer was taking the piss or it was just incredibly misjudged, but it was hikarious either way.
