Well it hasn’t been a big secret that Wigan has made it known, that James McArthur was available to Premier League Teams. Both Burnley and more recently Leicester have been enquiring about James.
Earlier this week, Big Dave Whelan spoke on BBC Radio Leicester, and was frank in regards James’ future, stating:
“I don’t want to stop the lad from going into the Premier League.”
So it looks like James McArthur can speak to Leicester in regards to personal terms, as it is understood that Wigan have agree a fee with Leicester of around £7,000,000.
McArthur has made 155 appearances in the Wigan shirt since he arrived from Scottish team Hamilton Academicals in 2010; he was part of the Scottish influx on from Bob’s time in Scotland with Motherwell and the contacts he made there.
James was part of the team that won the FA Cup in 2013 when Wigan beat Manchester City, and has made 4 Championship appearances this season, scoring 1 goal.
Ahh, with this, I reckon Uwe will be asking Jonathan Jackson to ‘Fire up the Quattro’ and drive down to Brentford to pick up Adam Forshaw.
All the best James.
