Quite a few ex-Latics lads turning out against us with their former clubs, it was great last year to watch ‘Arry back in Wigan’s colours but the whole event in my opinion was a pale imitation of the MEN arena where it has been before.

The tannoy guy was inaudible and the playing surface seemed poor in comparison, plus the fact we didn’t do as well ! (That’s probably why I don’t remember it fondly!)

Along with Arjan De Zeuuw, we have goalie Simon Farnworth, with Peter Atherton, John Doolan, Joe Parkinson & Andy Lyons all confirmed so far.

They will be strutting their ageing limbs into action on Saturday June 18th at the Echo (Echo) Arena, first kick-off at four pm with the opposition provided by Tranmere Rovers who are the holders, Liverpool, Everton, Blackpool and Bolton Wanderers.

The Wigan Athletic team have not got a sponsor yet, I wonder how much is in the TNS piggy bank?
