Patent Predictions 2015

Author: No Comments Share:

This weekend sees the return of our almost regular prediction competition.

The rules are simple.  Each week, I’ll put three fixtures up on the This Northern Soul message board.  People try to guess what the scores will be and then get points based on how right they are.  At the end of the season, we add all the points up and the person with the most is the winner.

If that’s not exciting enough for you, then there’s the side issue of prize money (yes, we know you’d all enter for the pride and glory alone, but it would look silly if we didn’t have a prize).

Each week, I’ll take the current leader’s predictions and put a bet on using them.  The bet I’ll put on is called a patent (see what we did there?) which consists of seven separate bets.  This week’s fixtures are:

  1. Leicester v Burnley
  2. Swansea v Newcastle and
  3. Wolves v Latics

The seven bets in the patent are:

  • 3 x the correct score for each fixture
  • 3 x doubles combining the correct score bets (fixture 1 & 2, 2& 3, 1&3)
  • 1 x treble combining all three correct bets

I’ll put a 15p (WOW) patent on, which means 15p goes on each of the seven bets (£1.05 in total).  It seems a pittance but it can all add up, this week’s bet could reap £458.85 if all three results are right.

Because I’m using my money, the deal is that I’ll split any winnings 50/50 with a prize pot which will be split (if there’s enough) between the top predictors at the end of the season.

What do you have to do to take part?  It’s simple, sign up for our message board now, get on the thread for this week’s games and make your predictions.  Keep doing the same until the end of the season and see what happens.

p.s. and whilst you’re there, feel free to join in the other conversations that are going on.

p.p.s don’t worry if you miss this week’s predictions, we’ve not set the deadline for signing up yet.

Have fun!
