It’s Patently Scarf Weather

The weather hasn’t got any warmer, but with 3 more people joining in this week, things are certainly heating up in the TNS prediction league*.

As you no doubt have spotted last week, this and the next couple of rounds of Patent Predictions will count doubly.  Firstly towards to the overall league placings, but also towards working out the winner of a very natty Saville Rogue** scarf.  So how are people doing?

Well, the prediction league is continuing in its own boring (and rather embarrassing) way with, resident website breaker, NRP still leading the way.  He’s declared himself rubbish at predicting and is desperate for someone else’s predictions to go forward to the bet so all eyes are on Martin who looks most likely to take over should he fluke, erm pull an educated guess out of the bag.

The Saville Rogue competition is looking a little fresher, new boy mp pulling both a correct score and a correct result out of the bag to limp to the top of the table.  With six players on two points behind him, it’s all to play for, even if you’ve not entered yet.  There’s six more games to predict on and a possible 12 points to bag so come on, what are you waiting for?

All you have to do to play, is sign-up for our messageboard and add your predictions to the latest week’s post.  Week six is up next and the games should be available shortly.  You get two points if you get the score right or one if you only get the result right and all the points you get add together to make the league table.

There’s a bet placed each week, and at the end of the season any profits will be shared between NRP (who’s playing for the bets) and the best placed player(s).

For the next couples of week’s we’re also running a competition in conjunction with quality neckwearists Saville Rogue, who’ve offered us one of their latest scarves in Latics colours for your pleasure.  The player who scores most points over week’s 5, 6 and 7 will be significantly warmer than you or I (or be walking away with a very family member pleasing present just in time for the festive period).

As we’ve said, there’s still time to join in and plenty to play for in both competitions, so what are you waiting for?

* all offers of comedy writing work can be sent to the usual address…

**If you’re not familiar with them, Savile Rogue scarves give a nod to football terraces of yesteryear, shunning in-your-face logos and cheap nylon in favour of a traditional bar design and the comfort, quality and warmth of top quality materials.
