Its a book about the grit and determination of a handful of stalwarts who kept the dream alive against a back-drop of anti-football bias in the towns own council, and its a book about the die-hard supporters following their team in the face of derision and disaster until the final incredible journey from obscurity to the world wide stage.

Anyone interested in the history of Wigan Athletic prior to the helmsmanship of Dave Whelan will be fascinated by this worthy attempt to chronicle the clubs roots.

Its worth buying for the wonderful ‘Kits’ artwork on the front-cover alone, originally sourced from this very site.
