Amaya signs for Real Betis

Wigan Athletic have today confirmed that centre half Antonio Amaya has signed a three year deal with Spanish La Liga side Real Betis, for an undisclosed fee. The 28 year-old spent last season on loan at former club Rayo Vallecano, from where he initially arrived at Latics in August 2009.

Centre half is a position in which Latics are relatively well off.  Former Wolverhampton Wanderers defender David Jones is currently on trial after rejecting a new contract at Molineux a few months ago.

All at TNS wish Antonio all the best for the future.
