And the winner is…

I feel guilty.  Which my firends at Blue Peter tell me is never a good feeling when announcing a competition winner.  But honesty is the best policy, so it’s best to lay the reason my guilt on the table and it’s because I set what I thought was an easy question to win this scarf and yet it’s the first time I can remember people getting the answer to one of our competition questions wrong.

A fair few of the entrants reckoned that our last postponed fixture was Bolton at home in December 2009, they were wrong.  Those that thought it was the game against Aston Villa a few weeks later were warmer, but not because they were in the draw for a scarf. Latics last postponed fixture was the one scheduled for 18th December 2010 against Aston Villa, called off because of “freak weather conditions” (i.e. the snow that was forecast actually happened).

And that left us with only two correct answers, which we ran through our very expensive official draw computer system to come up with the following result:

So Jeff Diggle wins the Savile Rogue cashmere scarf.  We’ve already been in touch with Jeff and will be making arrangements to get the his pick of of the Wigan cashmere scarves priced at £58.95 in the post to him.

Wigan Scarves from Savile Rogue

Savile Rogue scarves give a nod to football terraces of yesteryear, shunning in-your-face logos and cheap nylon in favour of a traditional design and the comfort, quality and warmth of top grade wool.

It’s the sort of scarf you would be happy to wear even when you’re not at the match.

If you’re not Jeff – or if you are and you’re a generous Christmas present giver – you can use the discount code SOUL13 to get 10% of any order before November 30.
