Well with Halloween and Guy Fawkes fast approaching the festive feast will also soon be upon us as well.

The fans of FC Santa Claus who were founded just a short while ago in 1993 following the amalgamation of the Rovaniemen Reipas and Rovaniemen Lappi football clubs have had an early present this season.

Over in Rovaniemi Finland, the club has been promoted to the top flight after winning Division 2 scoring 104 goals on the way to collecting fifty points in just twenty games.

A goal by Jaakko Paavilainen  secured a 1-0 victory over Rotuaarin Pallo which sealed top spot and the team from the artic circle were promoted, team spokesman Jouni Toyras said …

“We’re happy to show people that we’re in this for fun, but we also take it seriously as you can see from our fine result.”
