Shhhhhh!

It’s a good job I don’t take too much notice of the media.  A quick scan around the offerings on Saturday’s game would have you believe that Everton are/were terrible and Latics, well, they turned up.  I’m not sure that many Everton fans noticed our part in their downfall either.  Unless you keep in mind that we’re not supposed to be in this division people’s attitude towards Latics is apt to get you cross.

Should it though.  In some ways it might be better if all the attention (and pressure) was on the likes of Sunderland and West Ham whilst we quietly potter around in the background ignored but getting points.

If Saturday’s game was the first local Derby of the season, next Sunday sees the return of a fixture that fans of a certain age have been eagerly anticipating since May.  No doubt there’ll be more to say about this one as the week progresses, but for now a thought, are there two clubs, from different towns, whose grounds are as close as the JJB and Reebok?
