I’m shocked to be honest. According to Team Talk Big Sam has come out in support of Mr Whelan’s statement about salary capping. Given the supposed wage bill at Bolton you’d think that he’d want to be able to keep bringing in the highly paid stars on the wain. He does take the more realistic view that it wouldn’t work if only on country did it.

Jewell has diplomatically dodged the issue. “it’s the chairman’s job to worry about that, not mine” is basically the line.
