Well, it’s back. The regular feature that you didn’t know you’d missed and it’s a been a bit difficult what with very little going on, well at least very little on the Latics side of the fence. Today’s opponents have been a bit busier so with ne’er a do let’s get straight on with it.
It doesn’t seem like a week since I last did one of these (it’s not), but with literally one person pestering me about what was going to be in this week’s perfect hat-trick I’ve decided to keep to something like a deadline and get the Everton one out ahead of the game. Ahead of Saturday […]
If I’m honest, this selection was picked as a pre-Sunderland trio, but then my laptop blew up and… well it didn’t happen. I’ve got back online (sort of) today and reflecting back all three songs still work, albeit in different ways than they would have done on Friday. So, to save me thinking too hard […]
So, a quick return to something that I started off back on notapatchon, but didn’t quite carry through, hopefully we can turn it into a bit of a regular feature here on This Northern Soul, but it wouldn’t be the first time that I’ve said that and failed. Anyway, so you get the Left Foot, […]
I guess the rest of the season starts here, eight games, eight weeks and a tilt at recovering a year that’s never really got going. It’s going to be a rollercoaster, for sure and it’s not always going to be easy to keep the faith, but you definitely should and you should definitely enjoy yourselves […]
No match previews this week, I just can’t be doing with the clash of complexes that has become the build up to any Latics v Sunderland game. I’ll leave the reasoning behind that superiority/inferiority divide for when I finally get around to sitting that psychology ‘A’-Level and try and get on with what will hopefully […]
It’s been a fair old week. Battered by Chelsea, professional at Hartlepool fingers pointing and backs being whispered behind; no fear though because we’re only going to visit the fourth best team in the country last season. Still, instead of throwing yourself off the nearest “reply to thread” button maybe you should watch some cricket […]
Well, that regular feature did well didn’t it? It’s nearly two months since we did the first (and so far only) one of these, so I’m guessing you need a little reminder, right? The left foot, right foot, header, thing is just a reference to the fabled “perfect hat-trick”, of course what we’re going for […]
We’re all football fans here, aren’t we? So you get the left foot, right foot, head thing? It’s your perfect hat-trick, it’s our new feature and just to be completely contrary, it’s got nothing to do with hat-tricks, goals or football particularly. It’s just another excuse for us to shove some music down your throats […]
